Shame on MSNBC

By now, this situation is probably forgotten at this news station ..
but not by Milton's family and friends and he has many.

Dear MSNBC,

I am writing this letter in care of friends, in hopes that someone will read it thoroughly and respond respectfully. These friends, whom I never met face to face, but admire them as if I have known them for a long time, are in need of someone with some empathy at this respectful news station. The friends I am referring to are the Nerenbergs. The name might be familiar to you, or to someone else who works there. Milton and Evelyn Nerenberg were invited to participate in a previous program, “Missing Persons”. The missing person in their lives is their daughter, Audrey Lyn Nerenberg, and regretfully she disappeared on 7-15 -77. Still to this day there have not been any clues to finding her.

Milton and Evelyn Nerenberg were ecstatic with the hope of millions of people viewing Audrey’s story. The series, “Missing Persons” was to start, September 29th, 2000. Audrey’s story would have been the 4th show. Unfortunately, MSNBC cancelled the series. Although no one is to blame for the cancellation, Milton and Evelyn Nerenberg did feel sad, but it didn’t compare to the feeling they had after their treasured home made video of their beloved daughter was lost. With the bad luck that has ensued their lives with their daughter’s disappearance, you could imagine how they must feel.

Out of anger of frustration you might have received a letter from the Nerenbergs, but please understand that the homemade videotape contained precious footage of their daughter whom they haven’t seen in over 24 years. So I guess you could say I am a self- elected mediator, but also someone who cares for this family and feels their sadness. The Nerenberg’s never got back their original videotape, but a VHS copy, not the original with years of family photographs.

By now, this situation is probably forgotten at this news station, with all our country’s crisis and daily news events. But I am hoping that someone who reads this letter would be willing to help. The hope is with the cancellation of the show, and the loss of the family videotape, that MSNBC could refer the Nerenbergs to another news station, or series that could air Audrey’s story. Any kind of program, newspaper, or magazine that would write about Audrey’s disappearance, and show her photograph, could help bring her home. Please consider this request and give the Nerenbergs some luck in 2002. It would be much appreciated and admirable. Please help, and God Bless you if you could.

Thank you,
